12th R.E.C.—General or Sub Contractor
The R.E.C. has completed several projects as a general contractor. The main types of jobs that the R.E.C. is most suited for are earth moving projects, i.e.. site development, site clearing, pond installation, ditch and culverts, ball field construction, etc. The R.E.C. has had experience laying water, sewer, and gas pipelines and running electric and telephone conduit.
In order to properly manage projects the 12th REC has management and staff that are uniquely experienced and offer decades of project management and craft knowledge and skills. This coupled with our extensive fleet of equipment that includes wheeled and track machinery from 40 to 300 horsepower dozers, loaders, scrapers, road graders, excavators, gradalls and trucking from 5,000 to 80,000+ GVW makes the 12th REC an attractive choice for constructing earth moving projects. Our owned compaction fleet is comparable and as versatile as any other fleet in Western Pennsylvania.
We are also able to offer our contract services in a multitude of ways including force accounting (daily equipment rentals with operators), unit pricing, cost plus fee and lump sum. The R.E.C. is fully insured and can provide performance, maintenance and payment bonding. We are also pre-qualified by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) and a prime contractor by the Department of Transportation (PennDoT).
